Search function on main Chica site?

This is just an idea, not a criticism. As I've only been with you for a very short time, I'm very impressed with the amount of content on your site. I had time to look around a bit more last night and I saw that you have your content broken down by year... which is good. But if you had some sort of search function or maybe a further breakdown by category that would make it more user friendly, IMO.

As I said... just an idea.

that's a great idea sweetie and we actually wanted that search feature but our site designer talked us out of it because he said it would slow the site down quite a bit. i'm not sure if that's true or not but i think it's a great feature to have.

I'm not a programmer or a techie... not sure what the search would do to the overall speed. If dozens of people are all executing searches at the same time, yeah, I suppose it would drag down the speed. But he already gave you a category ("Year"). It seems like he could add some popular sub-categories based on what people ask you about the most. It wouldn't search, but people could more easily find the category that most interests them.

no idea how the search works but as I peruse this site, I see a lot of xxxxx VS xxxxx threads. I dont think compare would bring up VS.....right?
